SUBURB PROFILE

Ivanhoe East

IDEAL FOR FAMILIES

...

As an Art Deco fan, it is hard not to like Ivanhoe East. With its significant number of beautiful (and often large) Deco houses circa 10km north east of the CBD and neighbouring Ivanhoe.

A very family-friendly suburb by virtue of its proximity to public and private schools, parks, cafes, shopping (including Ivanhoe Shopping Centre and Heidelberg Central), attractive leafy streetscapes and the community spirit of its house-proud residents.

As a Melbourne buyers agent, I find it interesting the relatively large proportion of buyers who have grown up in Ivanhoe East as children and chose to buy properties there to raise their own families. A practical endorsement of the family friendly environment it provides.

Buyers particularly like the The Boulevard for its “brand”, vistas and leafy feel, as well nearby streets (for example Hardy Terrace and Wallis Avenue).

The quality of the suburb and the number of quality houses on large blocks is evidenced by it median house price of $2.26m (2022) and how tightly houses are held.
